Branché proprietary weave of silk is offered in eleven beautiful shades, these and all of Branché products are developed by designer creator Donna Hinds Gaynor, a leader in the design and textile industry since 1989, with over 20 years of textiles and design experience ensuring exceptional detail to comfort, fit, craftsmanship, and quality.

Branché exclusive quality and craftsmanship has gained a customer base that includes the world’s most exclusive spas, hotels, beauty apothecaries, linen shoppes and gift boutiques.

Born and raised in the small river town of Hannibal MO, famous for Mark Twain’s boyhood stories, Branché founder Donna Hinds Gaynor childhood was every bit as colorful as these classic tales. Her vivid memories include playing Hide and Go Seek on horseback, packing saddlebags with Barbies and peanut butter ‘n jelly sandwiches, and admiring the smooth silk charmeuse pillow slip which had been part of her mother’s bridal trousseau.

Forever drawn to nature, beauty, style and design, after college Donna ventured to Los Angeles to study fashion design and textiles. In 1994, Donna created Branché, her own line of women’s fashion and one of the first environmentally friendly brands. The name Branche, taken from the French term for “hip” & “connected” was perfectly symbolic and remains today as the culmination of Donna’s design degree, yoga certification, energetic healing studies, and natural organic lifestyle. 

Silk charmeuse has always been one of Donna’s favorite fabrics, “the way it captures color and reflects light makes it luminescent .” She often wondered how she could use it in every collection, at that time it was just too dressy for everyday, “I get a laugh when I think back, because you do get what you ask for!”

The life of a clothing designer is go go go. To save time on her hair routine, remembering her mother’s silk pillowcase Donna wrapped her pillow with charmeuse leftover from her holiday collections. My clothing line evolved, literally, when I woke up one morning realizing how much I relied on silk and wanting to share the benefits with women everywhere, and decided to create a line of silk pillowcases.”

“I set out to find a charmeuse more suitable for everyday use, designed our beautiful packaging, patented my design for the silk headband to adorn it, and ventured out to create a new category in Beauty.”

“Because of the beauty benefits I knew they should be sold in the Beauty category”. Buyers would hang up on her saying, “we sell beauty not bedding” The rest is history.

Since then, others have tried to copy her concept and designs. They copied her eye mask design with silk covered band and then, they claimed to be the original. “You can copy a concept, but you can’t mass produce quality”.

She currently resides in Luxembourg with her husband, and runs her US business abroad.

Donna earned a BA in marketing from the University of Denver and a Certificate in Fashion Design from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.
